Portsoy 75 Club has benefitted from a donation of over £1800 from Macduff Distillery.
The funds were raised through the sale of whisky cocktails mixed and served by the Macduff Distillery team during the Scottish Traditional Boat Festival in Portsoy in June.
Jamie Winfield, Distillery Manager at the Bacardi-owned Macduff Distillery, commented, “As a family-owned company, we’re always looking for ways to give back to the local communities around our distillery. Portsoy 75 Club is an incredible organisation which does so much amazing work in the area, so we jumped at the chance to lend our support. Our team attended the Boat Festival to mix up cocktails using our beautiful range of THE DEVERON single malt whiskies for visitors to enjoy. We’re thrilled to be able to make this donation to support such a valuable community group.”
Accepting the donation on behalf of the Portsoy 75 Club, chairman Brian Sutherland, said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive this donation, and we give our sincere thanks to Jamie and his team for their efforts and kind support, we really appreciate it. The funds will go towards community focused activities in Portsoy, including the Christmas light display and Hogmanay firework celebrations.”
Formed in 1975, the Portsoy 75 Club aims to provide facilities for members to meet informally to encourage friendship and the exchange of views and ideas among members, and to participate in activities for the benefit of the community. The club provides support for a range of community groups and organisations through fundraising and community engagement activities across the year.
