50th Anniversary Event

This year Portsoy 75 Club celebrates its 50th Anniversary and Portsoy Thrift Shop celebrates its 25th Anniversary.

Friday 29th, Saturday 30th & Sunday 31st August 2025

The programme will include a Gala Day, evening entertainment, and the presence of special guests, Shetland’s Up Helly Aa Viking Jarl Squads.

Friday 29th August

Dance the night away to top north east band Mustang at the Tattie Sheds in Portsoy.

Over 18s only, ID required.  Licenced bar.  Tickets available online now.

Saturday 30th August

Join a community celebration Gala Day at Loch Soy in Portsoy, with stalls, catering, children’s activities, vehicle displays, entertainment, and much more to be announced.

In the evening, Shetland’s Up Helly Aa Viking Jarl Squads will lead a torchlit procession through the streets of Portsoy.  Members of the public are invited to join the procession, and torches will be available to buy online soon (over 16s only).  Follow the Vikings through the town to the harbour area where a specially built Viking galley will be set alight.

Afterwards, join the Vikings at a family friendly ceilidh, with music from Galik Bred, at the Tattie Sheds by Loch Soy.
