The community of Portsoy crowdfunded to raise money to buy a beautiful ceramic lighthouse sculpture after it was temporarily placed in Portsoy as part of Clan Cancer Support’s Light the North trail in 2021.

Portsoy 75 Club members Martin Runcie and Gary Reid attended the auction on behalf of the community, and were delighted to place the winning bid on the lighthouse.

A project was undertaken on behalf of the community by Portsoy 75 Club, led by members Myles Murray and Vivien Rae, to secure a space for the permanent placement of the lighthouse by the town’s New Harbour.

The new community space showcases the lighthouse and provides seating for all to enjoy the stunning views across the Moray Firth and the ambient surroundings.
